Telegram bot · group money pool

Let a bot run your savings circle, not a notebook

Yig’im Bot takes over the rotating money pool a group of friends runs between themselves. It collects the members with a button, lets each person pick their own place in the queue, and when the deadline arrives it tags whoever has not paid yet, in the group, without anyone having to ask.

Introduction

What Yig’im Bot is

A yig’im is a common arrangement in Uzbek communities: a group of people pays into one pot every round, one member takes the whole pot each time, and when everyone has had a turn the circle starts over. People also call it a “qora kassa”. In English it is usually described as a rotating savings circle or money pool. Somebody normally keeps the tally in a notebook, and sooner or later the group chat fills up with an argument about who paid and who did not.

Yig’im Bot takes that bookkeeping off a person and puts it in the group. You add the bot to your Telegram group, it collects the participants through a button, each participant taps the position they want in the queue, and from then on the bot runs the rotation itself, starting at number one. It remembers whose turn it is, when the deadline for handing over the money runs out, and who has already handed theirs over.

One thing it deliberately does not do: the bot never tracks amounts. It only tracks the state “paid / not paid”. How much everyone puts in each round is between the members — the bot’s job is to keep the order and the payment marks straight so nobody has to remember them.

The strongest part is the automatic reminders. Every day at 08:00 and 19:00 Tashkent time the bot looks at the turns whose deadline has arrived or already passed, and tags the people who have not paid, in the group. That means fewer rounds lost to “sorry, it slipped my mind”, and nobody in the circle has to write private messages asking friends for money.

It is built for a circle of friends, a work team, a family group — any group of people who run a turn-based pot between themselves.

  1. 1st place
  2. 2nd place
  3. 3rd place
  4. Circle complete
The queue starts at the first place and moves one step at a time: as each place closes, the bot announces the next one by itself. When the last place closes, the circle is complete and /odam_qoshish opens a new one.

Problem

What it fixes

Nobody has to be the bookkeeper

In a normal yig’im one person writes the tally down and then has to go round the group every round asking each member for their share. The bot takes both jobs. Payments are marked with a tap of a button, and the reminder to the people who still owe is written by the bot itself, in the group, at a fixed time.

The order stops being an argument

Who goes first is exactly the question that turns a friendly pot into a quarrel. In Yig’im Bot each participant picks their own number, the whole order is visible to the group while it is being picked, and once it is confirmed the rotation runs in that order and nowhere else.

No more “but I already paid”

The payment state lives in one place in the chat, in a list everyone can see: ✅ To’laganlar, the people who have paid, and ⭕️ To’lamaganlar, the people who have not. Only the holder of that turn can change it — that is, the person who actually received the money.

The deadline does not get forgotten

The turn holder sets a final date once, and after that the bot watches the calendar. On the last day and on every day after it, the members who still owe get tagged in the group. Nobody has to send a private nudge to anyone.

Getting started

Getting started

  1. Add @yigim1_bot to your group

Put the bot in the Telegram group where the yig’im is run. Everything happens inside that group.

  2. Make the bot an administrator

This one is a recommendation: with admin rights the bot can delete its own message when someone taps 🛑 To’xtatish.

  3. Turn Privacy Mode off

In BotFather, set Privacy Mode to “Disable”. This step is required — without it the bot cannot see reply messages and will never accept the deadline date.

  4. Type /odam_qoshish

The bot posts a message with buttons, and everyone who wants to take part taps ✅ Qo’shilish to join.

  5. Set the order with /tartiblash

Each member picks their own number, then someone taps ✔️ Tasdiqlash to confirm. The bot announces the first turn holder immediately.

  6. The turn holder sets the deadline

They type /muddat_belgilash and reply to the bot’s message with the date, written as day.month.year.

  7. Close the turn once the money is in

The turn holder marks the payments with /pul_olish, and the 💯 Hammasi to’ladi button closes the turn and passes it to the next person.

Walkthrough

How a circle runs, message by message

The bot replies, button labels and pop-ups below are the bot’s real text, not rewritten for this page — and they are in Uzbek, because Uzbek is the only language Yig’im Bot speaks. The English notes under each step tell you what they say. The example circle has three people: Aziz, Dilnoza and Bekzod. The first turn belongs to Aziz, so he is the one typing the commands; the names, dates and numbers are made up for the example.

Step 1 — open the circle and collect the members

Someone types /odam_qoshish in the group. The bot posts a message with buttons under it, and that one message keeps changing afterwards: when a person taps “Qo’shilish”, the bot does not send anything new, it redraws the list inside the message it already posted. The heading “👥 Qatnashchilarni qo’shish” means “adding participants”, and the last line of the first version says that nobody has joined yet.

  • Someone types /odam_qoshish in the group. It does not have to be the organizer — anyone in the circle can open a round.
  • Everyone who wants to take part taps ✅ Qo’shilish, the join button.
  • The bot sends no second message. It edits the first one, so the “Qatnashchilar” list (the participants) grows inside it and the group chat stays readable.
  • Anyone who changes their mind taps ❌ Chiqish and drops off the list again.
  • If the round was opened by mistake, 🛑 To’xtatish cancels it.

Step 2 — everyone picks their place in the queue

Once the members are in, someone types /tartiblash. The bot prints one button per position under the heading “🔢 Navbatni belgilash”, which means “set the queue”, and each person taps the number they want for themselves. Tapping a number that is already taken gets you nothing but a pop-up refusal.

  • Each participant taps the number button they want. Taken places are marked with a ✅ in the list, undecided ones with a ❔.
  • Bekzod tapped a number that was already gone and got the pop-up “Bu raqamni boshqa qatnashchi tanlagan” — another participant has picked this number.
  • Tapping your own number a second time releases it, so you can still trade places before the order is locked.
  • When everyone has a place, someone taps ✔️ Tasdiqlash to confirm and the bot saves the order under the line “✅ Navbat tartibi saqlandi”.
  • The bot then announces the first turn holder. The line “🎯 Navbat @aziz ga o’tdi — 1-o’rin” says the turn has gone to @aziz, in position one, and the same message asks that person to set the deadline.

Step 3 — the turn holder sets the deadline as a reply

Only the person whose turn it is sets the deadline. The bot does not accept the date as an ordinary message: it asks you to reply to its own message, the one headed “📅 Oxirgi sanani belgilash”, which means “set the final date”. Because it arrives as a reply, the date cannot get mixed up with the rest of the group conversation.

  • The turn holder types /muddat_belgilash in the group.
  • The bot asks for the date and shows the format it wants: day.month.year, with 25.08.2026 as the example.
  • The date is written as a REPLY to that bot message. Sent as a plain message, it is not read as a date at all.
  • The bot confirms the date and adds how many participants still have to pay by then — the last line promises a reminder as the date gets close.
  • For the bot to see replies in a group at all, its Privacy Mode has to be turned off.

Step 4 — marking who has paid

As the money starts coming in, the turn holder types /pul_olish. The bot lists the people who have not paid and puts one button next to each of them. The turn holder is not on that list — the money is being handed to them, so they do not pay themselves. The buttons are locked to the turn holder too: anyone else who taps one gets a pop-up refusal.

  • The turn holder types /pul_olish. No other participant can run this command.
  • The bot shows the deadline under “Muddat” and lists the people who still owe under ⭕️ To’lamaganlar, with one button per person.
  • Dilnoza tried to mark herself and got the answer “Bu tugmalarni faqat navbat egasi bosa oladi”: only the turn holder can press these buttons.
  • The turn holder taps the buttons as the money arrives, and each marked person moves into the ✅ To’laganlar list of people who have paid.
  • The list is refreshed inside the same message. No new message appears in the group.

Step 5 — closing a turn and finishing the circle

When everyone has handed over their share, the turn holder taps 💯 Hammasi to’ladi, the “everyone has paid” button. The bot closes that turn and announces the next one. When the last turn is closed, the whole circle is finished and the bot says so.

  • The 💯 Hammasi to’ladi button marks everyone still outstanding as paid and closes the turn — “✅ 1-navbat yopildi” means turn one is closed.
  • With the turn closed, the bot announces the next turn holder and the flow starts again from the top: deadline, then payments.
  • When the last turn closes, the bot posts “🎉 1-aylana yakunlandi!” — the first circle is complete and everyone has had their payout.
  • A new circle starts with /odam_qoshish again, in the same group.

The automatic reminders

Nobody writes these messages — the bot sends them on its own. At 08:00 and 19:00 Tashkent time, every day, it checks the turns whose deadline has arrived or already passed, and tags the people who have not paid, in the group. There are two kinds of reminder: one for the final day, and one for a deadline that has already passed.

  • On the last day the bot posts in the morning, “⏰ Bugun — pul topshirishning oxirgi kuni!”, telling the group that today is the final day. The message separates the people who have paid from the people who have not.
  • Once the deadline has passed, the reminder headed “🔴 Muddat o’tib ketdi” repeats at 08:00 and 19:00 every day until the turn is closed.
  • The people who still owe are tagged with an @, so the reminder reaches them as a Telegram notification instead of a line they can scroll past.
  • The turn holder does not have to wait for the schedule: /eslatish fires the same reminder by hand.

Features

What the bot does

Members join by tapping a button

The /odam_qoshish command posts one message with buttons under it. Anyone who wants in taps “Qo’shilish” (join); anyone who changes their mind taps “Chiqish” to leave. The list is redrawn inside that same message, so the group chat does not fill up with a message per person.

Everyone picks their own position

The /tartiblash command prints one numbered button per position. Each member taps the number they want and the chosen ones get a ✅. Tapping your own number again releases it, and you cannot touch a number somebody else has taken.

The rotation advances by itself

Once the order is confirmed, the bot announces the person in first place and the turn moves to them. When a turn is closed, the bot announces the next participant on its own, and at the end of the circle it posts that the whole round is finished.

The deadline is set with a reply

The turn holder types /muddat_belgilash and the bot asks for a date. You answer by replying to that specific bot message, writing the date as day.month.year. A malformed date or a date that has already passed is refused.

Payments live in one list

The /pul_olish command shows who still owes and puts one button next to each of them. Tapping a button moves that person into the ✅ To’laganlar list — the people who have paid. The turn holder is not on the list at all, because they do not pay themselves.

The bot writes the reminders

At 08:00 and 19:00 Tashkent time, every day, the bot checks the turns whose deadline has come and tags the people who have not paid, in the group. The turn holder can also fire a reminder by hand at any moment with /eslatish.

The current state is one command away

The /holat command gives the whole picture: which round of the circle this is, how many participants there are, whose turn it is now, the deadline, the payment count and who is up next.

Commands work with a hyphen too

If you type a hyphen instead of an underscore, the bot still understands you: /muddat-belgilash and /muddat_belgilash do the same thing.

A hyphen works in place of an underscore (/muddat-belgilash). Yig’im does its real work in the group: /odam_qoshish, /tartiblash, /holat, /muddat_belgilash, /pul_olish and /eslatish only run in a group chat, while /start and /yordam also answer in a private chat with the bot.

Limits

Things to know before you start

Privacy Mode has to be off

In BotFather, set Privacy Mode to “Disable” for the bot. Without that the bot does not see reply messages in the group at all, so the deadline date is never accepted. This is the setup mistake people hit most often.

Admin rights are recommended

The bot does its main work without admin rights, but it cannot delete its own message when someone taps 🛑 To’xtatish. Making it an administrator of the group is the tidier setup.

The bot does not track amounts

It keeps no sums, no currency and no running debt. It stores the “paid / not paid” state and nothing more — how much each member puts in is for the circle to agree between themselves.

The turn holder does not pay themselves

Only the remaining participants appear in the payment list. In a circle of three that means two payments are marked in every turn.

Some commands belong to the turn holder

/muddat_belgilash, /pul_olish and /eslatish work only for the holder of the current turn. Everything else can be run by anyone in the circle.

The real work happens in the group

The circle commands do nothing in a private chat — there you get “Bu buyruq faqat guruhda ishlaydi.”, meaning the command only works in a group. A private chat with the bot gives you the introduction and the manual, and that is all.

Dates are day.month.year

A deadline is written as 25.08.2026 and the clock runs on Tashkent time. Another format gets you “Sana noto’g’ri yozilgan.”, meaning the date is written wrong. A day that has already passed gets “O’tib ketgan sanani belgilab bo’lmaydi.”

Once you have taken the pot you cannot leave

A participant whose turn has come and gone cannot drop out of the circle. Trying it returns “Siz pulni olib bo’lgansiz, aylanadan chiqa olmaysiz”: you have already taken the money, so you cannot leave. It protects what the others are still owed.

Questions

Questions and answers

Does the bot calculate the money?

No. The bot does not track amounts at all — it stores the “paid / not paid” state and nothing else. How much each member hands over is agreed by the circle; what the bot keeps straight is the order, the deadline and the payment marks.

Does the turn holder pay into their own turn?

No. The person whose turn it is does not appear in the /pul_olish list, because the money is handed to them. That is why a circle of three has two payments marked in every turn.

Do I need to make the bot an admin?

Admin rights are recommended but not required: with them, the bot can delete its own message when someone taps 🛑 To’xtatish. The setting that really is required is a different one — Privacy Mode must be set to “Disable” in BotFather.

Why does the bot not accept the date I wrote?

There are three likely reasons. First, the date has to be a reply to the bot’s “📅 Oxirgi sanani belgilash” message, not a message of its own. Second, if Privacy Mode is still on, the bot cannot see reply messages at all. Third, the format has to be day.month.year, otherwise you get “Sana noto’g’ri yozilgan.” — and a day that has already passed gets “O’tib ketgan sanani belgilab bo’lmaydi.”

Who sets the deadline and marks the payments?

Only the holder of the current turn, meaning the person receiving the money. /muddat_belgilash, /pul_olish and /eslatish do nothing for anybody else: the bot replies “Hozir navbat Aziz da (1-o’rin).” to name whose turn it is, then “Bu buyruqni faqat navbat egasi ishlata oladi.” to say that only the turn holder can run the command. The payment buttons behave the same way, and a tap from anyone else raises the pop-up “Bu tugmalarni faqat navbat egasi bosa oladi”.

When do the reminders arrive?

Every day at 08:00 and 19:00 Tashkent time. On the final day the bot posts “⏰ Bugun — pul topshirishning oxirgi kuni!”, and once the deadline has passed it keeps sending “🔴 Muddat o’tib ketdi”. In both cases the people who have not paid are tagged with an @. The turn holder can also send the reminder by hand with /eslatish instead of waiting.

What if I pick the wrong position in the queue?

Tap your own number a second time and it is released, so you can choose another one. You cannot change somebody else’s number — tapping a taken one returns “Bu raqamni boshqa qatnashchi tanlagan”, meaning another participant has it. To start the whole order again there is a 🗑 Bekor qilish button.

Can I leave a circle?

While the members are still being collected, yes — the ❌ Chiqish button takes you back off the list. But once your turn has come and you have taken the pot, you cannot leave: the bot answers “Siz pulni olib bo’lgansiz, aylanadan chiqa olmaysiz”.

How many people does it need?

At least two to set an order. If /tartiblash is typed with a single participant, the bot replies “Navbatni belgilash uchun kamida 2 ta qatnashchi kerak. Hozir — 1 ta.”: the queue needs at least two people, and right now there is one.

What happens when the circle finishes?

When the last turn is closed, the bot posts “🎉 1-aylana yakunlandi!” to say the circle is complete, and offers /odam_qoshish as the way to start a new one. So the next round begins whenever the group wants, in the same group chat.

Can I use the bot in a private chat?

Only /start and /yordam work there — the introduction and the manual. The commands that run the circle are group-only: typed in a private chat, they return “Bu buyruq faqat guruhda ishlaydi.”

Can I type commands with a hyphen?

Yes. A hyphen in place of the underscore is understood the same way — /muddat-belgilash and /muddat_belgilash do exactly the same thing.

What language does the bot speak?

Uzbek only. There is no language switch in the bot, so every message, button and reminder you see in Telegram is in Uzbek — which is why the chat examples on this page are shown in Uzbek with English notes beside them. Dates are written day.month.year and times run on Tashkent time.
